CEZ supports the young people and education in the country

The company supports the creation of well-prepared students in the Bulgarian energy resource.

CEZ executes a long-term strategy for corporate social responsibility, which purpose is to support the young people and education in Bulgaria through a number of initiatives. The company co-operates with Technical University in Sofia, Sofia University, as well as with some secondary schools in the country. At the beginning of this year, CEZ initiated a campaign in support of professional education, in which the company gave out monthly scholarships for graduates from 5 professional high-schools in West Bulgaria.

“Young people are the future of Bulgaria. CEZ is a socially responsible company, therefore for us it is very important to work towards the creation of qualified personnel in the Bulgarian energy sector and the development of educational and training programs in this field”, said Petr Dokladal, Regional Manager of CEZ Bulgaria.

This year CEZ started a charity program in the community centres in the west side of Bulgaria, with a point to keep their important role in society - to provoke children to be interested and keen on reading and to constitute national consciousness. The company upholds the foundation “Teach for Bulgaria“ ,which main purpose is to give every child in Bulgaria access to high quality education, by encouraging and preparing capable and  ambitious young people to be mentors and leaders in our educational system and society as a whole.

CEZ regularly conducts internship programs in all sectors of the company. In 2012 solely, more than 400 people applied and the total applications received for the past four years amounted little over 1600. The most talented of which were given the opportunity to work within the structures of CEZ Bulgaria.
