Actavis General Sponsor of Charity Football Match for Stiliyan Petrov

Actavis Bulgaria has officially announced that the pharmaceutical company supports the charity football match organized by Aston Villa former players in honor of Bulgarian footballer Stiliyan Petrov and to help Bulgarian children with leukemia. Bulgarian football stars Hristo Stoichkov and Dimitar Berbatov have confirmed their participation in the charity initiative.

The upcoming event was announced at an official press conference in the Bulgarian Ministry of Youth and Sports. It was attended by outgoing Bulgarian Sports Minister Svilen Neykov, the representatives of the Aston Villa Former Players Association John Waite and David Norton, the head of the sports editor’s office at the Bulgarian National Television Metodi Manchenko, and representatives of the Bulgarian Football Union.

Minister Svilen Neykov announced that the charity match would take place in Sofia on 25 May 2013 at Vasil Levski national stadium and the Bulgarian National Television would air it live at 3:00 p.m. local time.

The tickets for the charity match will cost BGN 10 each and the money raised will be donated to the National Fund for Treating Bulgarian Children with Leukemia.

At the end of the press conference David Norton handed outgoing Minister Svilen Neykov a T-shirt of Stiliyan Petrov. The legendary Bulgarian footballer is expected to attend the event, if his health condition allows. The Aston Villa captain has been struggling with an acute form of leukemia for 12 months.
