Contourglobal Maritsa East 3 Supports the National Vulture Festival

ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 is the main sponsor of the second National Vulture Festival, organized by The Federation of nature-conservation NGOs “Green Balkans”. The event took place on October 14^th, 2011, at the city of Sliven.

Two white-headed vultures have been baptized during the Festival. One of the birds received its name Maritsa from the employees of ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 after an internal naming contest. The birds were set free after the baptizing ceremony. Thanks to their adoptive parents, the vultures received special transmitters, by which their adaptation and survival in nature will be monitored.

The National Vulture Festival is part of the Project “Recovery of large European vulture population in Bulgaria”, realized by “Green Balkans”. The main goal of the Festival is to promote the Project and to inform the local society about its realization and long-term programme. ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 is the only one company sponsoring the event and its employees have manifested their positive attitude towards nature, showing readiness to keep contributing to wildlife conservation.
