Postbank received the prestigious award at the annual ceremony for Largest Corporate Donor organized by Bulgarian Donors Forum
Corporate responsibility program of Postbank High Start received the prestigious award Best Donors Campaign at an official ceremony organized by Bulgarian Donors Forum (BDF). The award was bestowed to Mrs. Petia Dimitrova, Executive Director of Postbank by the Minister of Euro funds Management Mr. Tomislav Donchev.
“When we started the program 6 years ago our aim was to encourage the ambitious young people and to show them that hard work is rewarded. We are happy that we provide opportunity to students to participate in the reforms of the education as well as to be active part of discussion of the socially important problems of Bulgaria”, Mrs. Petia Dimitrova, Executive Director of Postbank commented. “We are proud that our efforts and constancy in this direction are highly evaluated and we hope that High Start project will become more and more successful because the biggest award for us is to see how the young generation of Bulgaria stays and works in their own country.”
The sixth edition of the program has an entirely new format and is supported by 4 NGOs working in the field of education and youth – BDF, Paideia Foundation, National Network for Children and Parents Association. Nearly 2 000 high school students from 8th to 12th grade sent essays on the theme of the initiative “Chase the boredom away from school” with their ideas for the development of the high school education in Bulgaria and competed for scholarships of BGN 1000 each. The jury that chose the winners included Postbank representative, partner organizations and media representatives. The awarded essays were gathered in a special book that was officially handed to Ministry of Education, Youth and Science.
The program for support of high school education was launched in 2005 under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science. This initiative reflects Postbank’s conviction that knowledge, diligence and love of learning are the prerequisites for personal and professional realisation in the world today. Since the start of the program until now 766 students have received scholarships from Postbank for a total value of 376 250 BGN.
