Time to Register for Postbank Business Run 2015

The deadline for registration of teams in Postbank Business Run 2015, the charity relay race expires on 31 May. The event which will take place on 7 June at Business Park Sofia is organised by Begach, or Runner sporting club with support from Postbank. The charity it backs this year is For Our Children Foundation’s good cause. „The biggest team building in Bulgaria”, as organisers refer to it, offers corporate teams of four runners to test their endurance and team spirit in a relay race: each runner does 4 laps of 1 km each, or 16 km in total per team.

The entry fee is BGN 200 per team. 30% of the fees will be donated to For Our Children Foundation. Runners get a number of prizes and gifts and the event also includes Kids Run, a mini-run for children.

Elenko Elenkov, one of the founders of Begach, talks about the teams that have registered so far and fundraising for children at risk.

Why did you choose to back For Our Children’s cause this year?

E. E .: We try to work with different charities each year as that would indicate that running can support various causes. For Our Children" has the perfect profile of an NGO Begach would love to work with. Also the profile of the Foundation coincides with the Kids Run, that will take place right after the business relay

What does running for a charity mean to you?

E. E.: We are an NGO and to us each and every race is different rather than just another one. Participants in the relay do get the benefits of a personal achievement and a better performance but they have an additional motivation, that of pursuing a bigger cause. We are thinking of linking results and charity: if for example you run 10 km, a donor will provide a certain amount to charity. I believe we will succeed.

A marathon, sprint or relay run is the support of children in Bulgaria?

E. E.: All three.

How many teams have registered and could others join in?

E. E.: We have over 50 teams (over 200 runners) so far. We expect that by the end of May when the deadline for registration expires their number would at least double.
