Microsoft Bulgaria and For Our Children Foundation are among the winners of the Zaedno, or Together, Awards, a project of the Workshop for Civic Initiatives Foundation (WCIF) set to distinguish the best charity campaigns in 2013. For the ninth consecutive year the foundation promoted civic organisations’ efforts in gaining funding and the media coverage of philanthropy trends.
The award ceremony held on 4 July focused on the development of organisations in their efforts to solicit funds and finance various charity causes as well as on trends and issues they faced. That was why the people invited to hand out the awards were individuals strongly related to philanthropy and civic development. These included Konstantin Penchev, Bulgaria’s Ombudsman; Ms. Tale Kandal, Chargé d'Affaires at the Royal Norwegian Embassy; Alexander Dzhoganov, CEO and Board Member of Generali Insurance; Yordan Mateev, Editor-in-chief of Forbes Bulgaria; Iliyana Nikolova, CEO of WCIF; Maria Cherneva, journalist at Bulgarian National Television; Plamen Dichkov, Marketing Director at Bulgarian National Radio; and Vladimir Yonchev, Editor-in-chief of information web portal www.offnews.bg.
The ceremony also distinguished media and journalists who contributed to the promotion of charity campaigns. The special Civic Position Provoking Debate award was bestowed again. The event was supported by Vivacom Fund and The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
