Four Students Get Mtel Young Talent Scholarship

Maria Ivanova, Nikolai Dandanov, Stiliyan Kolev and Tsvetan Ivanov, students at Sofia’s Technical University, won Mtel Young Talent Scholarship programme.  Under the programme, the telecom will support them financially for a period of 10 months (or one year of tuition. In addition, the company will assist them in their education and career orientation by involving them in various work projects and in Mtel’s 2014 Internship Programme.

Mtel Young Talent Scholarship enabled 3^rd and 4^th year students at the Telecommunications Faculty of theTechnical University in Sofia  to run for a scholarship. In addition to having very good grades, they also had to write an essay on how telecommunications will impact life in the 20 years to come.

After a careful selection of both the resumes carried out by professors at the Technical University  and the essays that were sent in, experts at the company selected ten students to participate in the Mtel Young Talent Scholarship  programme.

Placed in a real-life competitive environment, the finalists had to deal with individual and group tasks  as part of the Assessment Center, which turned out to be a true challenge to them. The best three of them got scholarships. Finalists did exceptionally well so the management agreed to provide an additional, fourth scholarship.

During the event, the students visited the Operations & Management Center and one of the server rooms where employees of Mtel showed them key maintenance and control of the access network.

Mtel Young Talent Scholarship is an element of the company strategy of assisting young people in their professional orientation and gathering experience in a corporate environment.
