Staff of 17 leading Bulgarian companies (and counting) are raising funds to benefit For Our Children Foundations’ festive season cause
For Our Children Foundation launches a charitable campaign titled It Is You Who Work Wonders This Christmas. It offers a completely different approach to Christmas charity that in Bulgaria is often reduced to giving useless items and sending donations via text messages. The concept behind the campaign is to engage staff members of socially responsible companies so they give some of their time and creativity and organise Christmas projects at their offices.
For Our Chidlren will utilize the funds raised to save newborn babies from abandon, find foster parents for children who cannot stay with their native parents, accommodate babies in the foundation’s Family House rather than at a social institution.
In 4th-20th December staff members of companies that have joined the campaign will hold Christmas projects choosing between 10 charitable projects suggested by the foundation. These include: Christmas lunch, sale of items they no longer use, karaoke, charitable movie night at the office, Christmas raffle, and childhood photo game. Apart from charity events for their staff, some of the companies involved will donate a fraction of their profit to support For Our Children Foundation’s cause and engage their customers, too.
“Christmas is your usual time for charity, but our campaign is unconventional: we opted to do something different and innovative in partnership with business. We would like for staff members of companies that support us to have a personal contribution and feel satisfied with the fact that they helped a child in an institution find foster parents or backed a disadvantaged family keep rather than abandon their newborn. We believe that everyone can give with a smile and enthusiasm rather than because they felt guilty or emotional for a moment. We are grateful to companies that will help us work wonders with many children’s lives and we are also grateful to our partners who have made the campaign possible,” says Teodora Stoimenova, Marketing Manager of For Our Children.
The charitable campaign has so far involved ABC Design and Communications, I Do Advertising, J Point printing house, Kreston BulMar, Deloitte, Sofita, Kompas, Cargill, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Dundee Precious Metals Chelopech, ICN.bg, Sofia Airport, Astra Zeneca, Eurobet, Euro Catering, Roerich School, www.infocall.bg.
