Smile!

Smile!, the brain child of Kalina Halacheva, managing partner of Uniqa Guarant, is a new foundation focusing on giving to people in need, particularly packed food and clothes. What makes it stand out from the rest is that anyone can help whenever they wish and with as much as they wish while Kalina guarantees personally that donations go to the intended beneficiaries and nowhere else.

For a couple of months now Smile Foundation has teamed with Sofia Town Hall to provide a hot meal to 50 people in need in Sofia every working day. Anyone can join in and help the foundation by giving to the cause instead of sending out  Christmas cards, for instance.  Each donation of 1 lev  provides a hot meal to a person.

Moreover, Smile! is also a platform for various good causes, long- as well as  short-term.

“The foundation was created to help changing what we can instead of just looking at problems and discussing them inertly”, founder Kalina Halacheva says. “Our goal is to help every single day and feed as many people as we can”, she adds. “To look at what we have rather than what we lack or what we cannot change. To remind us to smile more often.”
