Project Aim

WomeNRG is a program of the Electohold Group aimed at the professional development of young girls and women, encouraging their realization in the energy sector and providing opportunities for their career growth. The goal is to support women and their development in electrical engineering specialties by providing a motivating environment, including financial support, to achieve satisfaction from their professional realization in Bulgaria.

Project Target Group

Outside the company - girls over 16 years of age with interests and/or education in the field of energy who are actively seeking professional realization. Inside the company - all women employed in the group.

Project Duration

Our pilot project started in 2023 with the aim of sustainable upgrading over time.

Project Activities

As part of our WomeNRG pilot project, the following activities were implemented: - paid summer internships in group companies for students at technical universities and students from vocational high schools. The share of girls in the internship program is 27%, and in 2023, 23% of them chose to stay and sign a permanent contract; - dual education in partnership with vocational high schools in Western Bulgaria with a profile in electrical engineering; - 3 videos featuring girls included in the internship program; - 3 videos featuring women in Electohold companies and their professions; - participation in the special edition “Women, Leaders in Business” of Business Global magazine (with a circulation of 5,000 and an online audience of 25,000); - a special presentation of the forum “What to become when I grow up” (March 25, 2023, at Sofia Ring Mall) for women with a profession in electrical engineering and how they succeed in realizing themselves in Electohold companies. - mentoring program aimed at encouraging women to develop in Electohold companies.

Project Results

• Change in attitudes and encouragement of women who are interested and want to develop their skills in the sector. • High level of commitment and effectiveness of female employees. • High percentage of women working in the group. In the companies of Elektrohold, 42% of women work compared to 58% of men. The percentage of women (41%) in managerial positions is high in a sector traditionally perceived as predominantly “male”. This trend has remained stable over the past two years. • Inspiring work environment. • Increasing qualification and retraining. • Creating equal opportunities for the professional realization of men and women in technical specialties.
