Project Aim

Yettel's diversity and inclusion policies are designed to ensure that our employees feel accepted and free to be themselves regardless of gender, age, religion, etc. We work to remove barriers to employment with us and create an inclusive work environment for all. We do this with our Side by Side program for professional development and social integration of people with special needs; employee training on topics related to inclusion of diverse groups; career support and guidance programs for youth – Hub by Yettel, Second Shift, Yettel Teen Academy; partnerships with STEM schools and the Technical University to increase the number of women in technology positions and to raise awareness about the benefits of diversity in the workplace.

Project Target Group

Yettel's diversity and inclusion programmes and initiatives aim to: • People with different abilities (Side by Side Program) • Students and young professionals, women with technological specialties (Hub by Yettel internship program, partnership with Mentor the Young, technical universities) • Students (Second Shift program, Yettel Teen Academy, partnerships with STEM schools) • Employees • Non-governmental sector, media, business, institutions, general public

Project Duration

Diversity programs and activities implemented throughout the year: • Side by side, a biennial program: its 8th edition runs in 2023, selection and launch of the 9th • Hub by Yettel, one-year internship program: in 2023 the 6th edition is in progress, selection and start of the 7th. • Second shift (students in 10th-12th grades): duration 1 month • Yettel Teen Academy (5th-12th graders): duration 1 week • Training for employees (Side by side participants, managers): 230 hours

Project Activities

As part of its diversity and inclusion policy in 2023 Yettel implemented: • Side by side program for people with special needs: participants work on a specific project for 2 years, go through a specialised induction, have a personal mentor and psychological support from a corporate psychologist. Full remote participation is possible. • Hub by Yettel internship: for 1 year students and young professionals work on key projects and have a mentor to guide them in their work. • Second shift: for teenagers (15-19), children of employees. For 1 month, they gain practical knowledge in a chosen field and work with a mentor who introduces them to the work environment and business practices. • Yettel Teen Academy: students (grades 5-12): for 1 week, participate in sessions and workshops on different areas of business. • Unconscious bias training for executives and HR team; specialized training for employees who host a participant in the Side by side program. • Conducting lectures to Technical University students, participating in their seminars; Electronic Systems School of Technology events and hackathons.

Project Results

Side by side: 166 applicants in the 9th edition. 4 people appointed. Hub by Yettel internship programme: over 400 applicants. 14 trainees appointed. Second Shift and Yettel Teen Academy: about 80 participated Employees engaged in training: 130 people Young people reached through partnerships with TUES (hackathons/events): over 230 participants
