Project Aim
Avon breast cancer promise reflects the company's global commitment, dating back to 1992, to take action against the most common cancer among women. The aim is to draw public attention to the indispensable role of prevention and early diagnosis, so that every woman is informed about the risks and early symptoms, addressing this through large-scale information campaigns.
On the other hand, through our partnership with "One in 8" foundation, we offer a solution in two directions:
- prevention and early diagnosis through free preventive examinations at a mammologist in smaller settlements in Bulgaria
- direct support of women diagnosed with the disease and their relatives - informational, practical and psychological consultations
Project Target Group
Our target group includes women of all ages, as the disease, although more common among women 50+, affects more and more young women. Our messages are that every woman, regardless of age, should self-examine her breasts regularly. We reached the target audience through various publications on our official social networks - Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, as well as through the profiles of our Representatives, associates, influencers with whom we partnered.
Project Duration
Тhe fight against breast cancer has been a key part of Avon's global corporate social responsibility since 1992, and the company has donated $947 million worldwide.
In BUL, for more than 20 years, we have dedicated ourselves to:
- donate funds to fight the disease, raised through the sale of our charity products (100% of their profit is donated)
- raise awareness about the risks, early symptoms and the importance of prevention
Over the years, we have donated over 1.5 million BGN.
Project Activities
In Oct 2022 we organized an online event "National Pink Day" to raise BC awareness: https://www.facebook.com/events/1090958048480125
'Every morning you find time to put on that favorite lipstick that gives you the confidence to face the challenges of the new day with a smile, right? And do you find time to check your chest? How often do you do it? This year we challenge you: Put pink lipstick on support the fight against breast cancer. Take the time to examine your breasts. Make self-exams a part of your routine and a lifelong practice. Self-exams are an essential first step in breast care. It only takes a few minutes, but it could save your life.'
On 08.10. we followed the tradition of lighting up public buildings in Sofia and the country in pink and thus symbolically shed more light on the need for every woman to be examined regularly and not to be in the dark about the risks and symptoms https://www.facebook.com/avonbulgaria/posts/pfbid03jSvbrYhVTNVvdFcKorrLA5fqfS3j3QtPW14zQQoAZkq6xHxB6zPhenkzLEDRRRbl

The annual donations to "One of 8" foundation, incl. the latest from Oct 2022, worth BGN 50,000, are extremely valuable for diagnosed women, because in the One in 8 Club, the ladies are part of a community of sisters by destiny, where they can freely share and empathize. On the other hand, through the free breast screenings we provide in smaller communities, we sometimes really save lives, because breast cancer can be cured if detected early.
