Project Aim
Grupama launched a large-scale international first aid training program.
Less than 30% of Bulgarians have undergone training in first aid, and some were trained more than 20 years ago. At the same time, statistics show that even the fastest ambulances in Europe arrive at the scene of the accident in no less than 5 to 8 minutes. In life-threatening accidents, the first 3 minutes are decisive for the victim.
That's why Grupama started a "Life Savers" campaign for first aid training in partnership with the Bulgarian Red Cross. All the company's employees were trained in 2022 , and this year the program will be open to more interested parties, with the goal of training between 500 and 1,000 people for free.
Project Target Group
The project has already trained all employees inside the company. This year the target is all people who want to become "Life Savers". They will be able to declare their desire for free training within the project and its budget. Invitations will also be sent to Grupama's partners, brokers and clients, who will be able to train their employees as well. The capacity of the project is up to 1000 people for 2023.
Project Duration
The project started in September 2022. It is planned in the activities of the company and of the entire Grupama Group for 2023 and will be a priority for all international branches of Grepama Group for the following years. The minimum target of the whole campaign for the grapevine branches is at least 1 million wearing "Life Savers"
Project Activities
Over 200 employees of Groupama Insurance and Life Insurance have already completed first aid training with a full 8-hour course and have obtained national recognized certificates.
For 2023, the Bulgarian Red Cross is preparing a special program for the purposes of the Groupama 's activities for more synthesized training. It is planned that between 500 and 1000 people will pass through them.
The activity was promoted in partnership with the BRC at public events organized by the Bulgarian Red Cross, as well as through social networks. Forbes magazine also devoted a page specifically to the Life Savers initiative and project.
Groupama also dedicated its Christmas calendar to the topic, giving advices on providing first aid through it. The circulation of the calendar is over 630 units.

- They would promote and are promoting the need for training
- They would like to gain additional knowledge, deepen what they have learned
- They indicate that they already have the competence to react adequately when needed
- Society has new over 200 people who can be "life savers"
