Project Aim

The charity Christmas campaign "Let's Warm a Child's Heart Together" through the sale of Christmas and New Year's carts aims to provide financial means for the Hot Meal Programme of the BRC. It has been implemented for 17 consecutive years in 2020/21 school year with the main goal to provide free lunches each school day for children in need from socially disadvantaged families from all over the country. Up to now it has provided free meals at school for 19 034 vulnerable children in the country (or 1 426 779 free lunches). The main goals of the programme are to provide healthy meals for childfree from vulnerable groups (orphans, semi orphans, with unemployed parents, etc.), and to keep them in the classrooms; prevention of their dropping out from school and motivation for studying.

Project Target Group

Needy children from socially disadvantaged and multiple families, orphans semi orphans, with unemployed one or both parents, They should meet special criteria, and the main reasons these children to be included in the Hot Meal projects are the lack of financial means in the households due to unemployment, low incomes or lack of incomes, limited opportunities for providing of nourishing food.

Project Duration

The Christmas campaign ""Let's Warm up a Child's Heart Together" has been implemented from November till January each year since 2007. From each purchased Christmas or New Year's card with the BRC logo from Unicart catalogue, the company provides funds for free meals for children in need.

Project Activities

Since 2007 up to now Unicart Ltd. and the BRC have been implemented Christmas charity campaigns "Let's warm a child's heart together" through the sale of Christmas and New Year's carts. The campaign is a part of the initiatives of the Care Partners Network of the BRC to proved funds for the Hot Meal Programme, Some children expect Father Christmas to make true only one their dream - to have food on the table and to be able to go to school. During the cold winter months they couldn't be in the classrooms because of the poverty. The free meal, provided by the BRC is the only way for them to be at school, away from the street dangers. With each Christmas and New Year's card with from the Unicart catalogue, the company provides funds for a child in need. The Care Partners Network of the BRC was established in 2004 in order to support the humanitarian organization to raise funds for the Hot Meal Programme and for other humanitarian initiatives. During the present school year 2020/21. 1 473 needy children from all over the country are receiving free meals each school day

Hot-meal programme in data and facts: • Started in 2004. 17 years of sustainability • 19 034 children received free meals each school day for this period. • Provided financial support until now in the amount of 2 853 558 BGN – 1 426 779 free meals Unicart Ltd. has donated more than 100 000 BGN (or mot=re than 50 000 free launches for children in need).
