Project description

Project Aim

The project aims to create culture of diversity and equality at all levels within the company. Accenture is a clear example of an inclusive environment where all people are deservedly valued, with no bias and prejudices on appearance, gender, sexual orientation or disabilities. The idea behind “Beautiful minds...” is to unite all employees around the diversity as a cause. Therefore, they will become like-minded supporters of the LGBTQ community and people with disabilities.

Project Target Group

The project includes all 200 employees in Accenture Bulgaria team. It promotes the principles of equality and inclusion within the work place, avoiding bold messages and demonstrative statements. The chosen approach creates positive attitude by using the one most universal language – the art.

Project Duration

The Project is implemented in October 2019 in the course of 31 days. October was specially chosen, as in Accenture’s calendar it is marked as the Month of Inclusion and Diversity.

Project Activities

Key project elements are emblematic artefacts of world culture. Only at the end of the campaign is revealed that all these works of beautiful mind are created by LGBTQ people and people with disabilities. Messages are sent to all employees. They start each day differently and impalpably become part of an experiment in which the emotional impact of a great work is more significant than the kind of person the author is. 'Open your ears' is a popular song and info about its author 'Open your soul' - a quote by classic author and link to his biography 'Open your eyes' - a well-known drawing and info about its author 'Open your mind' - a scientific achievement with info about the scientist. The final email is 'Open yourself - Inclusion starts with I'. This is an invite to the final event, where the idea is revealed and the employees are encouraged to become Allies by wearing their badges on lanyards in the rainbow colors for the LGBTQ and in white color to support people with disabilities.

Project Results

The results become obvious at the closing event – the hall is full of people eager to understand the campaign idea. A large number of employees choose colored lanyards and symbolically attach to them their badges. The campaign success is significant at regional level - the Bulgarian office is the number one supporter among the Accenture's offices in Central and Eastern Europe – 21% support the LGBTQ community, 22% - people with disabilities and 17% - the cross-cultural differences.
