Bulgarian Stock Exchange

Bulgarian Stock Exchange is a public company that was officially licensed by the State Securities and Exchange Commission to operate as a stock exchange on 9 October 1997 and is currently the only functioning stock exchange in Bulgaria.

Founded by the merger of several regional exchanges Bulgarian Stock Exchange is the driving force that contributes to the development trends of the Bulgarian capital market.

BSE’s core business includes:

-Operation of a cash market (equity market, bond market and other financial instruments);

-Operation and maintenance of information systems for trading in securities;

-In its capacity of APA, BSE discloses trading reports provided by investment intermediaries.

BSE's mission is to facilitate the development of an organised capital market which guarantees its members and their clients equal access to market information and equal conditions for participation in exchange trading.

The Bulgarian Stock Exchange engages in a continuous dialogue with its stakeholders, and all its activities are oriented towards their needs.

BSE's important priority is the widening of its international contacts and relations with other exchange institutions and organisations at regional, European and global level.

BSE has a statute of a full member of the Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE).

Corporate social responsibility is part of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange’s business model. The Exchange has adopted a corporate social responsibility policy that covers the company and its employees, and also contributes to the sustainable development of Bulgaria. In 2020 Bulgarian Stock Exchange became a partner exchange in the Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative. It is a UN Partnership Programme organised by UNCTAD, the UN Global Compact, UNEP FI and the PRI. The SSE’s mission is to provide a global platform for exploring how exchanges, in collaboration with investors, companies (issuers), regulators, policymakers and relevant international organisations, can enhance performance on ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) issues and encourage sustainable investment, including the financing of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
