Tishman International with Green Award in Construction and Real Estate

The company won an award for the overall policy of its development Sofia Airport Center

Tishman International was awarded in the competition “The Greenest Companies in Bulgaria for 2012”, organized by B2B media. The company was awarded in the category “Construction and Real Estate”. This is an award for the overall policy that Tishman International has been executing in the construction and the management of the business complex Sofia Airport Center (SAC). Alan D. Levy, Chairman of Tishman International accepted the award during an official ceremony, held on 27^th June at Kempinski Hotel Zografski.

The evaluation of the nominated companies and their projects has been done by an international jury of experts in the spheres of Resource optimization, Ecology and Business. Three key components have been evaluated: the current carbon footprint of the project, the policies and strategies for sustainability and the ways, the project was communicated to the public. The participation of the employees in the fulfillment, the introduction and the execution of the company’s sustainability policy, was very important for winning the award.

The commitment of Tishman International to the green idea is expressed also through its partnership with CleanTech Bulgaria in two of their projects – Green Office Week and Waste Office Week, which Sofia Airport Center supported and participated in.

Tishman`s development Sofia Airport Center, has been recognized as one of the most sustainable projects not only in Bulgaria but in the region as well. In April 2013 Sofia Airport Center has received a prestigious Prix d’Excellence Award – Bulgaria 2013 from The International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI). The business complex was also awarded at the international competition for green and sustainable construction– SEE Green Building Awards in May.
