Green Business Award for Mtel

Mtel received an “Award of appreciation for the support of environmental projects” during the annual campaign “Green Bulgaria”. The telecom was granted in the “Green business” category with its Mtel Eco Grant program, which is being implemented for a sixth consecutive year and is in support of small but of much value green initiatives.

Mtel Eco Grant is conducted in order to help preserving the environment and retaining biodiversity in the Bulgarian nature. The program classifies conservation of the environment as a result of government actions, the work of professional environmental activists and volunteers, and the environment-friendly business practices.

The grant program is a fundamental part of Mtel’s socially responsible policy, which is on the side of the Bulgarian society in three main areas: the social sphere, nature and environment, and responsibility towards employees.

Mtel Eco Grant is realized with the professional support of “Bulgarian Charities Aid Foundation”.

The Ministry of Environment and Water conducted the national “Green Bulgaria” campaign for the third consecutive year. Many companies and businesses were listed in the “Green Business” category, together with their projects, which are financed and implemented by themselves with care for the environment and for the Bulgarian nature. Nominations were distributed in three categories – big, medium and small businesses – as this year, for the first time, a special award of appreciation was presented.
