BGN 313,178 Collected in the Fourth Charity Campaign of Raiffeisenbank - “Choose to help!”

The fourth charity campaign of Raiffeisenbank - “Choose to help!” collected BGN 313,178. About 70% of the funding collected in 2012 will be earmarked for healthcare projects.

The funds were raised through personal donations of employees of the Raiffeisen Group in Bulgaria, while Raiffeisenbank added BGN 100 to every employee’s donation regardless of the amount they donate, as well as through donations received directly into the accounts of organizations and donations via SMS.

The campaign socially supported 23 charity projects of NGOs in the following areas: healthcare, culture and education, ecological and social projects. Most funds (BGN 56,382) were raised by the project of the Clinic of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at the St. Marina Hospital in Varna for the purchase of medical equipment, supplies and medications. It is followed by the project of the Bulgarian Charities Aid Foundation for treatment and therapy of children with various diseases (BGN 46,425).

“Since the launch of the first campaign until now, our charitable initiative has supported over a hundred ventures with nearly 1.5 million leva,” said Momchil Andreev, Chairman and CEO of Raiffeisenbank. “Every year we offer new causes, which raise support. In 2012, the focus was on projects outside the capital – in Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Burgas, Haskovo, Trojan, Pavlikeni, Svishtov,” he added.

The initiative’s website www.izberi.rbb.bg remains active after the issuance of the report on the funds raised during the campaign. The website will publish the reports of the organizations included in the campaign on how they have spent the donated funds.
