Five Years Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum
The fact that two years ago there were representatives of 12 companies in this hall and now the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF) unites 120 companies proves that all of us did a good job, the BBLF chairman, Maxim Behar, said at the conference on the occasion of the fifth anniversary at the Sofia hotel Sheraton on November 21. The conference was dedicated to the topic "Corporate Engagement - the Business of Business". Conference guests stood in one-minute silence in the memory of the people who died in the Istanbul bombing attacks on Thursday. Robert Davies, founder and Chief Executive of the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum, came to Sofia for the special occasion. He had a private meeting with Bulgaria's Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg later in the afternoon. I will tell him where the business in Bulgaria got to, Davis said at the press-conference before his meeting with Saxe-Coburg. He added that he would give him some ideas on what can be done to encourage business development in Bulgaria and to encourage the movement of social responsibility. The country Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Nikolay Vassilev, the director of the Foreign Investments Agency Pavel Ezekiev as well as the British acting Ambassador to Bulgaria Timothy Colley made official speeches at the ceremony. I am convinced, that during the last five years, BBLF members have given a significant contribution to imposing socially responsible business factors, which are beneficial not only for the Bulgarian business but also the entire society, Vassilev said. BBLF announced for the first time its annual awards for socially responsible business behavior. Four companies were awarded in the different categories. ING Bank received the award in the category Investor in Society, AIMS Human Capital was awarded in the Investor in Education category, TNT Bulgaria got the award in the Investor in Human Capital and ADIS in the Investor in the Environment category.
