Assarel-Medet AD gives 165 awards to mark the Miner’s Day

As a total 165 workers, employees and managers will be awarded by the management of Assarel-Medet AD on the occasion of the Miner’s day which will be celebrated in Panagyurski colonies resort on August 25th. As a tradition the awards for professional achievements or for long service in the company will be given on the holiday’s eve – August 24th.

This year the title „Best professionalist” will be confered on 86 repesentatives of Assarel and 3 of them will be decorated with honorary medals for services rendered to the company, because they are receiving the award for the fifth time. The best workers, controllers, technicians, technologists and specialists are elected by their coleagues through a survey and one of the criteria is their annual references.

Another 79 workers, employees and managers that have provided their services to the company for 25, 30, 35 or 40 years will also receive an award during the celebration.

The team of Assarel-Medet celebrates the Miner’s Day filled with satisfaction for the achieved results, underlined the Executive Director Dr. Eng. Lachezar Tsotsorkov.

The obtained and processed ore for 2011 is more than 13,5 million tons. The company was chosen for  „Investor of the year for 2011” in the category of „Green Investment” and for the second time was distinguished for it’s lange-scale projects that cost more than 150 million levs by the Bulgarian Investment Agency.

In the last year a new  Cicle-line technology for transportation of casting that is considered as the most modern instalation for extraction and electrolysis of cathodal copper in Europe, with capacity of 5000 tons per hour, was put in operation. Throughout the current year a two year project for a new stage of the technological modernization was successfully realised through the EU Operational programme „Development of the Competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy”. Its realization amounts to 16.7 million levs with provided financial grant for around 3 353 000 levs. Recently Assarel-Medet was also rakned at the first place in the national campaign  „Green Bulgaria” in the „Green Business” category. A few days ago, on August 18th, during the national celebrations of the Miner’s Day in Radnevo, Assarel-Medet received the social responsible company award in the mining field  which was adjudged after a survey amongst the media.

In accordance with it’s annual tradition Assarel-Medet celebrates the Miner’s Day every last Saturday of August in Panagyurski colonies village. More than 1600 employees of the company and its subsidiaries with their families and many residents and guests of the region are expected to come for the celebrations on the 25th of August .

The talanted children from the folklore dance club „Tangra” of chitalishte „Iskra” in Popintsi village and the brass band „Delcho Radivchev” of chitalishte „Videlina” in Panagyurishte will participate in the festive programme. There will be a traditional horo dancing for the participants led by the „Pazardjik” folklore song and dance company. Gloria and „Arabesk” ballet will also take part in the gala concert and the culmination will be the participation of Maria Ilieva and Vasil Naydenov.
