BBLF General Assembly Elected Three New Board Members

"The General Meeting is the time when we report to our members on what we have achieved in the past year and where we plan to go in the next one," said BBLF Chairman Maxim Behar at the sixth General Meeting of BBLF, which took place on October 30, 2003, and was hosted by Hilton Sofia.
"I was present at a previous BBLF general meeting only two years ago and it took place in a tiny room and I was the only guest of honour, said Mr. Tim Colley, Charge d'Affaires, at the British Embassy. "I am happy Hilton's Moussala if full of BBLF members today and I am one of four distinguished guests," he continued. Mr. Pavel Ezekiev, Chairman of the Bulgarian Foreign Investment Agency, Mr. Neil Buhne, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative, Ms. Christine McNeill, First Secretary at the British Embassy, also honoured the BBLF General Meeting.
Participants approved BBLF Activity report for the period October 2002 - September 2003, and the package of financial reports for the past and the current year presented by BBLF Controller Kees de Jong, who acknowledged that the financial status of the Forum has improved significantly.
The General Meeting approved the BBLF Scope of Activities for 2004, which outlined the continuation of projects, which had proved to be successful in the past years, such as the Career Advisory Project, the Business Ethics Standard, the newly initiated ENGAGE Project, etc.
The General meeting also confirmed the membership of 30 companies, NGOs and individuals, who joined the Forum in 2003. After a heated competition, the General Assembly elected three new members of the BBLF Managing Board - Mr. Friedrich Niemann, Hilton Sofia, Mr. Peter Ivanov, Cisco Systems, and Mr. Krisjian Sverrisson, Balkanpharma. Ms. Snezhana Shtonova and Ms. Ulyana Petrova, who had devoted years of their lives to the Forum, decided to resign and give way to new members of the Board. Meet all of them on page ...
