CEZ Employees Organized Volunteer Initiatives in Western Bulgaria

Employees of CEZ organized voluntary initiatives in six kindergartens in Western Bulgaria. This happened during the "Volunteer Week" initiated from the employees of the power distribution company between 7 and 14 November. As a part of the initiative were improved the playgrounds and interiors of kindergartens in Lehchevo, Montana, Vidin, Lovech, Dabovan and Gulyantsi. Activities included the donation of new furniture, equipment and materials for play and fun, renovation and painting of playgrounds and fences, and partial renovations of buildings of the kindergartens. Representatives of top management of CEZ for Bulgaria also took part in the initiative. The "Volunteer Week" was as well supported by the local authorities.

“I am glad that "Volunteer Week" was so well accepted everywhere. CEZ employees participate with great enthusiasm, and the happy smiles of the children were the biggest prize for their efforts. The partnership and the support of the local authorities were of great importance for the successful implementation of the initiative. We plan to turn the "Volunteer Week" into a tradition", said Peter Dokladal, CEZ regional manager for Bulgaria.

The selection of the kindergartens was made in cooperation with the administration of the local municipalities.  The funds necessary for the purchase of materials were secured by the CEZ. With this campaign, the employees who are working in the company joined the European Year of Volunteering.
