CEZ Joins The European Year of Volunteering Initiative

CEZ employees will join the European Year of Volunteering initiative. The company initiates refreshing of six kindergartens in Western Bulgaria. From November 7 to November 14 volunteers from CEZ will improve the playgrounds of kindergartens in Lehchevo, Montana, Vidin, Lovech, Dabovan and Gulyantsi.

Planned activities include painting of playground facilities, purchase and installation of lighting and child seats, etc. The purchase of the materials is financed by CEZ. The selection of the kindergartens was made in cooperation with the respective local authorities.

“We encourage our employees to participate in such projects. We are glad that we have the opportunity to collaborate with local authorities for such initiatives and to create comfort for children and provide a suitable environment at the same time", said Peter Dokladal, CEZ regional manager for Bulgaria.

Every year CEZ Bulgaria employees take part in various voluntary initiatives. In June 2011 volunteers from the company cleaned up the yard of the Social services facility for children and families, "Mother and baby" unit in Banishora district, Sofia. They planted flowers in the garden of the facility and organized a donation. The employees collected and donated baby clothes, toys, diapers and adapted food  for  the needs of the social institution.
