"The changes in legislation are our first signal to the business for our new policy," said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Lydia Shouleva at an official meeting with the members of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum at the Hilton.
This is the first meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister with the Bulgarian business leaders since she took office as the Minister of Economy in July.
"For us the meetings with the government are an absolute necessity, as the betterment of the market conditions in Bulgaria depend entirely on their vision for the development of the country and our relations with the European Union," said BBLF Chairman Maxim Behar.
BBLF is affiliated to the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum. In March this year, Prince Charles was in Bulgaria on the invitation of the Forum. This is a precedent for a member of the British royal family to visit a country in Southeast Europe twice in less than five years. "At my last meeting with the Prince of Wales, we talked a lot about our good relations with the Bulgarian government and personally with Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg and about the support we get for implementing the rules of ethical business," said Mr. Behar.
At the meeting at the Hilton, Minister Shouleva presented the challenges to the economic policy of Bulgarian government and pointed out the priorities in front the Ministry of Economy. "The changes in the administrative service should be implemented immediately and we will impose that on the acting administration," said Ms. Shouleva.
Participants in the meeting were Deputy Ministers of Economy Dimitar Ivanovski and Dimitar Hadjinikolov, representatives of leading Bulgarian and international companies and NGOs, as well as guests from the diplomatic missions of the US, Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, etc.
