Overgas organizes “Green Classes” once again

Overgas held its sixth open ecology session, part of the company’s “Find Out about Nature and Protect It” project. The event took place on Thursday, October 6^th 2011, at 10.30 am at the Overgas headquarters on 5, Phillip Kutev Str. in Sofia.  

The students in 6^th grade of the private “Bulgarian School” took part in the session, while the lecturers’ panel included ecology experts from Overgas and representatives of “Vitosha” Nature Park. 

This year’s open session topic was water.

As tradition goes, the children picked up useful photography skills on how to effectively capture nature through their cameras. Once the open session was over, the pupils visited Vitosha Nature Park, where they applied their new photography knowledge. The best photographs will once again be collected in an online gallery, which could be found on the company’s website.

Through projects like “Find Out about Nature and Protect It”, Overgas aims at a higher eco culture among the young generations, improving the children’s knowledge on the surrounding world, promoting protected territories and their preservation, as well as informing kids about the protected plant and animal species.

Overgas is the first company in Bulgaria to help restore and protect the Bulgarian forests and the biodiversity in them. So far, through the “Let Us Keep Bulgaria Green and Clean for Us and Our Children” project, Overgas has planted 130 thousand trees on a territory of 383 thousand square meters of land. The Company also developed the first eco-based computer game in Bulgaria – “eDom”, which teaches in an interesting way how not to waste energy and natural resources.
