Roche Bulgaria Celebrates the World Lymphoma Awareness Day

For the 6th consecutive year Roche Bulgaria celebrates the World Lymphoma Awareness Day. In 2011 the campaign is dedicated to disseminating information about the disease and raising the awareness of lymphoma. Roche Bulgaria also supports the project of the Bulgarian association of lymphoma patients for donation of stem cells.

Roche Bulgaria dedicate their campaign in the world wide web, because this is the easiest and fastest way to find information for lymphoma. The focus of the campaign is giving information, due to the awareness of lymphoma symptoms is very low – 74% of people do not even know that lymphoma is a type of cancer; 68% of them had never heard of lymphoma and 95% of people know very little or nothing about the disease.

The main objective of the campaign is to refresh the symptoms of lymphoma that would make more patients get their diagnosis earlier and seek advice from a specialist – medical oncologist or hematologist. This would result in timely start of an individualized treatment and cancer could be definitely cured. The message that Roche Bulgaria would like people to remember is that thanks to standard treatment possibilities using a targeted drug a growing number of patients are cured or reach a state of complete remission of their lymphoma.
