Devnya Cement obtained a "Green Certificate"

On November 1st, 2010 Devnya Cement received a “green certificate” signed by the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism for the company's contribution to the national research for carbon footprint and its commitment to Bulgaria’s  transition to Low Carbon Economy.

 

Involved in the project are the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism and the Ministry of Environment and Water”. The initiative was inaugurated under the auspices of the campaign “Carbon diet”  (www.co2.bg). The objective was to cover 150 companies located in Bulgaria and to gather general information in order to set up the carbon footprint of the companies -  size, lighting system, heating, electricity consumption, transport, maintenance activities and others.

 

The green certificate was issued to Devnya Cement on the basis of the Company’s practices for minimizing of electricity consumption and carbon dioxide emissions savings.
