M-Tel Grant 2010 begins

In 2010 the traditional grant programme of M-Tel will focus on education. The telecom operator lays the beginning of a campaign for projects searching, oriented to the language and social literacy of the young people in Bulgaria. Projects will be accepted until 1st June 2010

The grant programme is a continuation of the long term sustainable policy of M-Tel concerning large scale social projects of national significance, which focus in 2010 is namely on education, literacy and preserving the mother tongue.

M-Tel Grant 2010 will support projects aiming:

1. To research the status quo, based in the traditional models of teaching and studying; and to create and test innovative offers for studying Bulgarian language and literature;

2. To encourage gaining communication skills like self-expression, understanding and interaction in the complicated contemporary world.

The target group of the programme is students from the 1st to the 12th grades. Projects will be accepted until 1st June 2010

„This year we add to the social responsible philosophy of M-Tel an accent in education by sticking to the worldwide tendencies which bring forward the topic for lifelong education. And as we would like to cover maximum aspects of this broad sphere as well as to work for changing the attitudes, I believe that namely a grant programme is the best way for this to happen”, announced Andreas Maierhofer, Chief Executive Officer of M-Tel.
