In the past Mr. Behar was President of the Forum for two consecutive terms (2001-2007) and is considered a major contributor to the establishment of the Forum as a leading organization in the field of corporate social responsibility in Bulgaria and in creating the Standard of Business Ethics. The British Ambassador to Bulgaria, H. Ex. Steve Williams, was the official guest of the event. He stated that in the context of the economic crisis the role of BBLF is even more important for the promotion of business ethics and corporate social responsibility on both national and international level.
In his review of BBLF's activities for the year, Mr. Stamen Tassev, Executive Director of BBLF, pointed as significant achievements of BBLF its contribution to preserve the tax incentives for the businesses donating to the NGOs as well as the establishment of a national "In Vitro" fund and its approval by the National Assembly.
Other important achievements due to BBLF's efforts were the development of the National Strategy on CSR in Bulgaria and the inclusion of the cash payments issue in the list of measures against the grey economy developed by the National Revenue Agency.
The annual meeting concluded with an invitation extended by Mr. Tassev to all BBLF members to participate in the upcoming Sixth Business Leaders Olympics, which will be held at the American College of Sofia on July 11th.
