HRH The Prince of Wales is coming to Sofia this Thursday, March 13, for the second time in the past five years. That is an absolute precedent for a member of the British Royal Family to visit a country in Central and Eastern Europe twice in such a short period. He is coming upon the invitation of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum to take part in the Practical Management of Business Ethics Conference and a consequent meeting with BBLF members.
"We are very delighted that His Royal Highness accepted the invitation extended to him mid-December in London and see his visit as extremely important both for Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum and for the image of Bulgaria abroad as a country with well functioning market economy" BBLF Chairman Maxim Behar said.
The objective of the conference, starting at 5 p.m. on March 13, at the Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan, is to raise public awareness of the importance of the practical implementation of ethical principles in the day-to-day operations of businesses. The executives of AIMS Human Capital, Astra Zeneca, TNT International Express, and Umicore Med, will present their corporate experience in managing business ethics. HRH The Prince of Wales and Bulgarian Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg will comment on the importance of implementing moral standards in business operations. Over 200 business leaders, state officials, ambassadors and NGO representatives will participate in the conference.
The Prince will award the BBLF Business Ethics Standard to six Bulgarian companies with an outstanding corporate social responsibility record. Todoroff Wine Cellar, Technologica, Pain D'or, Denyl Men's Fashion, and Hebros Hotel Plovdiv will present their production and services at special stands at the meeting with BBLF members.
Companies had been selected after an open and transparent procedure from a pool of companies highly recommended by members of the Forum.
