Prince Charles "Plans Trip to Bulgaria"

HRH Charles, The Prince of Wales, is expected to visit Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) said quoting the presidential press office in Sofia. The British Heir-to-Throne was invited by President Parvanov but the time of the trip has not been fixed, yet. According to the BTA, it was planned for March, 2003.

In December, HRH The Prince of Wales met Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF) Chairman Maxim Behar in St. James's Palace. Mr. Behar delivered to the Prince official invitation to visit Bulgaria. Prince Charles received from Maxim Behar his personalized copy of the Business Ethics Standard, approved and launched by BBLF members last month. Prince Charles highly assessed the launch of the standard in Bulgaria and recommended to all other countries to study and follow the Bulgarian experience. The Prince of Wales and then Bulgarian president Petur Stoyanov established Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (www.bblf.bg) in 1998 with 12 founding members; now the Forum has 82 corporate members.

BTA also reported that top Bulgarian officials met in Sofia Friday to discuss security measures that should be taken during the visit of Prince Charles and that of Russia's President Vladimir Putin scheduled for March.

If Prince Charles realizes the intention to come to Bulgaria, this will be his second trip to the country. He first visited in November, 1998.
