Anglo-American School Awarded the Most Talented Bulgarian High-School Students

The Anglo-American School of Sofia officially awarded the most successful Bulgarian students with full three to four year scholarships for the amount of 60 000 Euro for each student.

The scholarships will be in effect until the students complete their high-school education. AAS will also support them financially with one international tournament trip yearly in Europe, provide them with school books and all necessary educational materials. Over the course of the high-school scholarship program, AAS will invest up to BGL 1,000,000 in the education of these talented Bulgarian children. The only obligation these students will have is to continue with their excellent performance and to strive to develop as socially responsible citizens.

Mr. Stamen Tassev, BBLF Executive Director was among the official guests of the event together with US Ambassador John Byerle, Deputy Minister of Education, Ekaterina Vitkova, Mr. Valentin Georgiev, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Eric Larson, Director of AAS as well as Mr. Alex Karagiannis, Chairman of the School Board who awarded the Bulgarian students with a Scholarship Certificate.

"Today, I received another proof how worthy were the efforts several years ago to overcome the resistance and to ensure better legislative conditions for the Anglo - American School's existence", shared Mr. Stamen Tassev. "We, at BBLF, work with students and we consider the six full scholarships for Bulgarian students a clear example of corporate social responsibility demonstrated by one of BBLF members. We hope that this initiative will continue in the next years and other private educational institutions will follow it, as well."
