Next Steps in the Fight against Corruption

BBLF is pleased to announce that the Combating Corruption Committee at the Parliament has included in its annual legislative schedule for 2007 the proposal of BBLF on cash payments. Initially, this proposal was submitted to and approved by the Global Compact network and later endorsed by the Citizens Consultative Council at the Combating Corruption Committee, which comprises representatives of 12 organizations and associations of the Bulgarian civil society. This week the proposal for limitting the cash payments is to be discussed at the regular Committee meeting at 14.30 o'clock on February 1, 2007 at the office building of the Parliament at "Dondukov" Blvd.  The goal is to introduce legislative changes in order to reduce the amount of cash payments and prevent corruption.
