BBLF took part in the "Technology of corruption" panel on the Southeast Europe Economic Forum
The Chairman of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum, Mr. Maxim Behar, took part in the discussion panel "Technology of corruption" on the Southeast Europe Economic Forum 2006 in the National Palace of Culture, Sofia. This is an annual regional event that gathers government officials, businessmen, international organizations, etc. within and beyond the Southeast European region, who search for tangible opportunities for investment and growth in Southeast European countries.

The symptoms of the corruption occurrence were addressed and possible measures for corruption prevention discussed in the panel. As a modern and innovative organization that supports anticorruption measures and activities, BBLF used the opportunity to participate in this forum in order to stimulate the business ethics and corporate social responsibility in the region.

"The first step we should make in the fight against corruption is not to take or give any bribe in any case," said Mr. Behar. He appealed the business to work in a manner that incorporates the three essential verbs for the fight against corruption - speak, act, hate - which will promote transparency on the workplace and intolerance against the corruption practices.

The discussion panel was moderated by Mr. Bojidar Danev, President of the Bulgarian Industrial Association and presentations were also made by Bulgaria's Deputy Interior Minister Kamen Penkov, Mr. Eduard Genu Radu - the Chief Commissioner and Deputy Director of General Directorate Anti-Corruption from the Ministry of Administration and Interior of the Republic of Romania, Mr. Kamen Kolev, Vice President of the Bulgarian Industrial Association and Mr. Todor Tabakov. There were about 50 BBLF guests of the panel - ambassadors, members and representatives of government institutions.
