Stoyan Stalev: Reducing the corporate tax and developing new industrial zones are among the priorities of the InvestBulgaria Agency

"We work actively to improve the Encouragement of Investment Act, and one of our priorities is mobilizing the municipalities' resources for creating developed industrial zones. Another goal is to lower the corporate tax from 15% to 12%, and to establish a zero tax rate for the reinvested profit." shared the Executive Director of the InvestBulgaria Agency, Stoyan Stalev at the business breakfast with the members of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum.

"In 2005 only, the investments in Bulgaria reached $ 2,3 billion. So far, there is a much higher percentage of investments in the trade, services, and finance, compared to the significantly smaller amount in the manufacture field - only 25-30%. This small share in the production sphere is partially due to the lack of qualified people. The process of creating opportunities for better realization of these young people, who come back to the country, demands the united effort of the government, the business, and the academic community."

Ms. Maria Shishkova, CEO of AIMS Human Capital Bulgaria and Vice-chair of the BBLF, handed Mr. Stalev the Business Ethics Standard of the Forum. She mentioned that every investor - Bulgarian or foreign, would work more conveniently in a business environment, where the main ethical principles in that code are observed.

The discussion about the possibilities for achieving more effective cooperation between the government and the private business, was honored by the ambassadors of Great Britain, Denmark, Ireland, and Sweden. The event was also attended by representatives from KMPG, Siemens, Albena Invest, Fujitsu Siemens, PostBank, AIMS Human Capital, S&T, Vivatel and others.
