TELUS International Bulgaria Community Board voted to fund selected socially significant projects in support of Bulgarian communities affected by COVID-19. A total of 244 projects competed in the two open calls for applications this year. The main focus of the evaluation is the effectiveness of the projects and their positive impact on local communities as well as the opportunity to run the project during a pandemic situation. The Community Board supported eight projects to be funded totaling the amount of BGN 95,663.
The supported organizations and projects are:
‘Amalipe - Center for Interethnic Dialogue and Tolerance’ and their project to prevent domestic violence.
‘Retina Bulgaria’ Association and their project, ‘Vision and COVID-19’;
‘Vazovtsi’ Association and their project ‘To help each other together,’ which supports over 300 socially disadvantaged families in the Varshets Municipality.
‘Parents’ Association and their project, ‘Active father - happy child’ to support and motivate fathers to be an active part of their children’s lives
‘Social Future’ Foundation and their project, ‘Adapted Digital Educational Center JAMBA for differently-abled people’;
‘Out of the Circle’ Foundation and their project, ‘S, M, L & ART,’ an innovative method for dealing with eating disorders by creating a free-access, virtual-art psychological
‘The First 3 Minutes’ Foundation with the project ‘Pay It Forward’ – first aid educational program both for students and teachers; and,
‘Single Step’ Foundation and their project: ‘#endHIVbg - from the challenges of COVID-19 to the possibility of a sustainable solution’.
