In the current difficult situation, the actions of the A1 Bulgaria team are aimed at three main goals - to protect the health of their employees, to ensure the functioning of their services, which are crucial for the life and business of customers, and to support the society in this difficult moment. The company is already transforming the way it works to be able to respond to the challenging and changing environment and ensure high quality connectivity and communication for citizens.
Aiming to protect their health and encourage clients to stay home during the COVID-19 pandemic, A1 launches a Digital Solidarity Campaign.
Although most A1 physical stores continue to operate, strictly adhering to all hygiene safety standards, the company encourages its customers to use the available online self-service channels instead of visiting a store. A1 offers a wide range of online self-service options - customers can manage their services as well as pay their bills through the My A1 app and its a1.bg web version. They can also take the opportunity to consult an A1 video assistant when they want to shop at the company's online store, as well as turn to an A1 video assistant, if they need technical assistance over the phone.
In addition to the full portfolio of digital interaction capabilities with A1, as part of the digital solidarity campaign, the company provided a number of its services free of charge to customers on the first day of emergency. For example, to encourage them to stay and work from home in the process of social isolation, all Bulgarian customers were provided free of charge 200 TV channels for Xplore TV and 10000MB free mobile internet traffic within 30 days.
In support of digital education and home-based work which have become daily challenges for most Bulgarians, A1 has also provided completely free internet traffic to the Ucha.se educational platform, as well as free access to the Eyeson online conferencing solution.
A1 Bulgaria also took care of its customers abroad providing those in the European Union with 1000 MB of free mobile Internet while roaming, and the rest, outside the EU, activated 50 additional free minutes for calls. More information is available here.
For the most vulnerable in this situation, the elderly, A1, with the support of the Ministry of the Interior, has launched a completely free mobile application that aims to prevent telephone fraud. A1 Guard is free for all mobile service customers, regardless of their carrier, as well as for A1 fixed line subscribers. The launch of the campaign is in response to the Interior Ministry's expectation that the COVID-19 crisis could result in a surge of phone frauds.
In addition, A1 reminds its customers the importance of following the rules and staying home by adding a #StayHome message to their logo, which is displayed on all screens of telecom customers' mobile devices and launches an advertising campaign with the same message.
Along with this, A1 donated BGN 220,000 to Alexandrovska Hospital for the purchase of 5 respirators, the most up-to-date version of the device, to treat patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Once the epidemic is over, the respiratory machines will remain for use in the hospital.
Moreover, by the end of April A1 donates BGN 1 for each invoice paid through the app or web version of My A1 and 1% of each paid bill through the A1 Wallet digital wallet into the donation account of the Ministry of Health. In this way, through any safe payment A1 will directly support the medical staff and the hospitals where patients with COVID-19 are admitted.
Donations through both platforms are another way for A1 to encourage as many of their customers as possible to use digital technology - for online payments and service management, to stay home and thus help the community to cope with the epidemic.
