Shell Bulgaria Launched Green Transport of the Future Student Art Competition

2017 is the year that marks 10 years since the first time Bulgaria participated in the Shell Eco-marathon competition. The national student art competition is part of the initiatives honouring the 10th anniversary.

Shell Eco-marathon is a unique global competition that challenges students around the world to design, build and drive the most energy-efficient car. The goals for the student teams are to design a car that will use the least amount of fuel, but also to learn to mastermind and fund a project. In the meantime, by participating in the competition, students develop their own creativity, their ability to act adequately in hard and unexpected situations, and to build and keep a valuable professional  network.

For the past 30 years, Shell Eco-marathon has been run annually in Europe, North and South America, and Asia. Between 25 May and 28 May 2017, participants will compete on a unique racing circuit in London’s Queen Elisabeth Olympian park. This year, Bulgaria will be represented by 6 teams – the Sofia Technical University team, two teams from the Angel Kanchev Ruse University, a team from the professional high school for national and world economy and tourism “N. Y. Vaptsarov”, a team from the professional high school for mechanical engineering in Ruse, and a team from the professional high school for transport management in Kazanlak. The first team is the one with the longest and the most successful history in the competition – it has won the 2nd place award three times so far.

The Green Transport of the Future contest started on 2 May 00:00h and will end on 15 June 2017. It will be coordinated by AMI Communications Bulgaria.

The winners will be selected by a professional jury, chaired by an internationally recognised Bulgarian artist. Other members of the jury will include a representative of the Bulgarian Ministry of Transport, an art teacher, an automobile journalist, and a representative of Shell Bulgaria.

The winners will receive appealing prizes: a laptop, a tablet, and a Ferrari limited edition ride on car with remote control.
