The spectacular concert at Arena Armeets Hall was the summit of BILLA’s We Love Bulgaria initiative
The spectacular charity concert Stars Sing for Bulgaria gathered popular Bulgarian performers at one stage yesterday. Signal, D2, Veselin Marinov, Toni Dimitrova, Poli Genova, LaTiDa and Bon-Bon, Neli Rangelova, Mariana Popova, Preslava Peycheva, Vessy Boneva and VS Dance sang in support of the renovation of the most beloved Bulgarian symbols, the Monument of Liberty at Shipka mount. The event attracted an audience of over 8,000.
The concert was part of BILLA Bulgaria's long-term national campaign We Love Bulgaria in support of the 100 national tourist sites.
The spectacle in support of the Monument at Shipka mount was opened by a very emotional recitation of the poem The Volunteers of Shipka. Stefka Kyoseva, granddaughter of the builder of the monument Penyo Atanasov, took part in the event, sharing some facts about the monument. Pop star Poli Genova was the highlight of the concert. She presented for the first time her popular hit song „If Love Was a Crime“ which reached fourth place in the prestigious Eurovision Song Contest. At the end of the gig all the stars performed together a traditional Bulgarian song moving the audience to tears.

Hosts of the charity concert were actor Alexander Kadiev and TV journalist Desislava Stoyanova. They also supported the initiative as did all the stars.
Deputy Minister of Tourism Ms. Irina Georgieva, Deputy Minister of Culture Ms. Boni Petrunova, the Ombudsman of Republic of Bulgaria Ms. Maya Manolova, Deputy Mayor of Sofia Mr. Doncho Barbalov, officials, REWE Group representatives, ambassadors, businessmen and media were among the special guests of the event.
The funds raised from ticket sales of the concert will be donated to the restoration of the Monument of Liberty at Shipka mount. BILLA will donate an additional amount to support the initiative.
We Love Bulgaria campaign will run every year for a 100-day period and is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Ministry of Youth and Sports and Sofia Municipality. Official media partner of the campaign is bTV Media Group.
