Actavis’ Football Academy Awarded

Actavis scooped an award at the annual charity and corporate social responsibility awards by Business Lady magazine. The company was honoured with a Heart of Gold in the Sports Causes category for its Football Academy project.

For three years Actavis has been the main sponsor of Marek-Dupnitsa football club. In addition, Actavis actively supports the local children's football coaching school. The company funded the participation of Marek’s youth and coaches in the unofficial World Championship for Children Gotya Cup held annually in Sweden. The children of Marek represented Bulgaria at the opening ceremony of the tournament on two occasions which was a great honour and pride for them.

The award was handed last night at a special ceremony at Hilton Hotel by Nayden Todorov, President of the Association of Sports Journalists in Bulgaria who said: "If we can say that the Bulgarian football is now ill, then who else but Actavis could offer the best medicine."

Radoslava Ganozova received award on behalf of Actavis. "If you could see the children's eyes when they landed at the airport in Sweden for the Children’s World Cup Gotya Cup, you would know why we keep supporting them. Let's make sure that children have a place where they are coached”, she said at the award ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by over 130 officials, politicians, diplomats, business people and non-governmental and private institutions and foundations. Prizes in 11 categories were awarded to various social causes and projects that had been started implemented or supported by companies, organisations and institutions.
