Over 500 participants took part in the second edition of Tole-run, or running for tolerance event which took place in Sofia’s South Park on 13 September 2015. The competition was organised by the Begach, or Runner Sports Club and powered by Mazda, Pepsi, Gatorade and Kaufland.
Minister of Sports and Youth Krasen Kralev launched the event at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The track was one lap of 5125 meters and participants made 1, 2 or 4 laps covering 5 km, 10 km and a half-marathon of 21.1 km, respectively. Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova launched the public cross fun-run distance of 2 km. The event was attended by Israeli ambassador Iritis Lillian and Bulgarian Red Cross chairman Hristo Grigorov.
The winners are: 5 km - Emil Stoynev, time 17:34 min and Elizabet Nacheva, time 21:14 minutes; 10 km - Anita Krasteva, time 42:48 and Miroslav Spasov, time 38:15. The half-marathon winners are Silvia Danekova with 1:26:13 and Dimcho Mitsov with 1:12:46 .
Just like every other Begach race, Tole-run too fundraised for a charitable cause. This time around it was the Hot Meal programme of the Bulgarian Red Cross that provides a free hot meal to 80 children in northwestern Bulgaria.
The race was followed by live performances of pop acts Mihaela Fileva, VenZy, Preya and Electric Force Crew.
