Donors and young people met on 10 June at Culture Beat Club to celebrate the successful end of the school year and launch new campaign to raise funds for 2015/2016.
Bulgarian Charity Aid Foundation’s Ready for Success scholarship programme is designed to help out excellent students without parents. It is implemented in partnership with the Orphan Foundation. In 2014/2015 128 scholarships worth BGN 248, 340 were awarded. The funds came from donations by individuals and 15 leading companies. This year PhilipMorris Bulgaria joined the programme by donating 37 laptops.
The official guests of the event included Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Kalin Kamenov who has supported Ready for Success for years and the programme’s fourth Goodwill Ambassador Nencho Balabanov. Three years ago, journalists Hristo Kaloferov and Miroslava Ivanova endorsed the programme, and last year it was supported by actress Albena Mihova.
What makes this initiative different is the youth who had demonstrated their will and eagerness to make an effort and not give up despite the difficulties they may come across. The programme supports university and school students with excellent grades. Scholarships are granted throughout the school year and are worth BGN 2,000 for university students (BGN 200 per month for 10 months) and BGN 1,000 for school students.
In November 2014 BCAF got the White Swallow award by Lords of the Air TV programme for the Ready for Success scholarship programme.
You can support Ready for Success by texting DMS USPEH to 17 777 (for subscribers of GLOBUL, VIVACOM and M-Tel), or by donating online using Platformata.bg.
BCAF appreciates the media support of Nova TV.
