Yesterday Telenor launched its long-term Open Mind programme for professional development and social inclusion of people with disabilities in Bulgaria.
Telenor’s new programme provides people with disabilities the opportunity to work on a specific project in a field of their choice for a period of approximately two years. Successful candidates will thus have the opportunity to enrich their knowledge, acquire new skills and improve their competitiveness in the labour market. Participants will work in Telenor’s open and accessible working environment, with equal remuneration package corresponding to the position. After successful completion of the programme, Telenor will provide permanent employment or support candidates in securing roles in the market place.
In the first edition of the Open Mind programme Telenor offers positions in the following fields: Customer Care, Marketing, Public Relations, Sales Administration, Network Performance, Finance, Internal Audit, Legal Services, Sourcing and Technology. Applicants must have secondary or higher education, related to the selected field, good organisational skills, and strong motivation with a willingness to learn. Computer literacy is an advantage. Those wishing to apply for the programme should email their CV and cover letter to: email@example.com by 15 July 2015.
Telenor Bulgaria’s programme for people with disabilities will be held annually as part of the company’s long-term corporate responsibility strategy and under the Telenor Group Open Mind global initiative. Bulgaria is the fourth country in which Telenor Group implements this recruitment project.
„I believe the key to disability inclusion is through the labour market. Working from the Group’s headquarters in Oslo, participants have the chance to learn new technical skills, showcase their unique abilities and gain the confidence to work in a leading tech company. Telenor launched the programme in 1996, and so far more than 200 people have completed it. Approximately 65% obtained a job after completing the programme”, Telenor Group Open Mind Director Ingrid Ihme said. He was one of the first participants in the programme.
Telenor Bulgaria is a leading telecommunication company with over 3.8 million active subscribers in Bulgaria.
