Seven Projects Get Funded by Mtel Eco Grant 2015

Projects of three schools, two community centres and two environmental organisations won funding from the seventh edition of Mtel Eco Grant. Each year the grant programme supports environmental protection projects  throughout the country. It is part of the company’s responsibility programme dubbed Nature With a Future.

The seven winning projects will share the programme's budget which this year exceeds BGN 40,000. Each project gets funded with no more than BGN 8,000.

Recepients of Mtel Eco Grant 2015 funding are Dr Vasil Beron Professional School of Tourism in Veliko Tarnovo, Hristo Botev Primary School in the district of Gorno Ezerovo in Burgas, and Nikola Vaptsarov Vocational School of Mechanisation of Agriculture in the village of Sredishte, Kaynardzha region.

The Mtel Eco Grant 2015 jury also approved of two community centre projects: in the town of Rila and the village of Smilyan, Smolyan region. Two environmental organisations  won funding too: Bulgarian Society for Protection of Birds , Svishtov branch, and Green Balkans Plovdiv branch.

The criteria for evaluation of entries included quality and budget, estimated results and impact as well as capacity of the organisation applying for funding.

Projects were evaluated by Vanya Kastreva, Deputy Minister of Education and Science; Evgenia Drumeva, editor at Netinfo; Konstantin Valkov, Darik Radio programme director; Sabina Panayotova, a top blogger; Stefan Avramov,  Bulgarian Biodiversity Foundation; Elitsa Barakova,  Bulgarian Charity Aid Foundation; Milen Atanasov, Bulgarian National Television; and Hristo Daskalov,  supply chain management, logistics and operations director at Mtel.

Nature With a Future is an annual donation programme that funds small but valuable ideas in ecology. The programme is carried out with assistance from Bulgarian Charity Aid Foundation.
