Mtel Employees Give Some 2,000 Leva to Foster Care

Nearly 2,000 leva supporting foster care in Bulgaria were raised by Mtel staff at the traditional Easter bazaar in the company. Over 500 employees participated in the charity event by visiting the bazaar and buying stuff or providing handmade products in support of foster care.

The funds raised will be provided to the National Association of Foster Care. Mtel and the Association are carrying out their joint project Foster the Future in support of foster care in Bulgaria for the fourth consecutive year.

In 2014 only the total of donations that Mtel and its employees made to various social causes reached nearly 390, 000 leva. 89, 000  of them went to foster care cause. The telecom funds a number of campaigns in promotion of this social service and in support of foster parents in their mission. A number of activities engaging children and youths from foster families are also underway: they visit the open doors days in the company as well as Internet literacy trainings and a number of other entertaining and educational initiatives.

Since the end of 2014 all of customers of the company are able to support foster care directly at cash desks in each and every of the nearly 200 Mtel shops all over the country. The funds raised are granted to the National Association of Foster Care.

The charity Easter bazaar at Mtel was held for the fifth consecutive year and so far company employees have supported various social causes with a total of 207,000 leva.
