Mtel Trains Youth From Foster Families

16 young people from foster families got trained in internet literacy at Mtel under a new programme titled Internet for All.

The initiative aims at educating children and youth in basic online safety rules. Momchil Nedyalkov from the Sales Training Team instructed them on Internet, smart devices and applications that they could find useful.

During the session the children got familiar with some essential online security guidelines and ways of using Internet as a learning tool.

The youth spent the afternoon taking a walk around the company’s HQ and had a peek into the Call Center and the NOC. Vladimira Bazovska from Customer Service Division and Stefan Kovachev from Network and IT Operations Division revealed some intriguing details of the telecom industry’s operations.

After enjoying themselves at Mtel’s offices the youngsters  spent the rest of the day with volunteers from the company staff taking a walk in a park, going to the cinema, visiting the Amateur Model Makers Club, etc.

With support from Mtel the boys and girls from foster families spent a week on a summer camp in Sofia. Sofia Motion Camp is a project that was prompted by youth who participated in the National Foster Care annual meeting at the end of May that was powered by Mtel. Members of the Mtel staff spent a day with the young visitors of the event.

Mtel has supported foster parenting with a special project titled Foster a Child. Create a Future for three years now. In addition, the company assists various campaigns in promotion of the social service and backs foster parents in their mission.
