EBRD Honours Postbank With Renewable Energy Focus Under BEERECL

Postbank (www.postbank.bg) was honoured with the Renewable Energy Focus Under BEERECL award upon the official conclusion of the Bulgarian Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Credit Line (BEERECL) of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

BEERECL was launched in 2004 to provide financing for businesses to invest in energy efficiency and small scale renewable energy projects. The credit facility amounted to over EUR 150 million leased through eight partner commercial banks in Bulgaria for nearly 300 industrial projects. During the event EBRD assigned excellence awards to the best projects in several categories.

Being one of the partner banks under BEERECL Postbank allocated 95% of the EUR 15 million loan under BEERECL for financing projects in the area of renewable energy resources.

Petia Dimitrova, CEO of Postbank emphasised that through its participation in the EBRD programme, Postbank as one of the key partners of the Bulgarian business offered very attractive terms for energy efficiency and introduction of renewable energy projects. “Postbank has always strived to be socially and environmentally responsible company. Being an institution with long-standing traditions in supporting such causes, we went forward alongside EBRD aiming sustainable development and environmental protection because this is our way of doing business”, Ms. Dimitrova said.
