Raiffeisenbank’s fifth Choose to Help 2013 charity campaign raised a total of 275,585 leva. 60% of the funds benefit healthcare projects.
The sum was raised by staff members of Raiffeisen Group and the bank itself which added 100 leva to each individual donation. The campaign also solicited outside givers who donated directly to projects, via text messages or using the campaign’s web page izberi.rbb.bg.
“For five years now Choose to Help has backed significant community causes helping the implementation of 138 good projects in four key areas: Healthcare, Community, Environment, Culture & Education with a total of 1.75 million leva”, CEO Oliver Rogl said. “Our commitment as organiser and prime investor in the charity campaign is to make sure that the funds will be used to carry out the projects and causes that we back transparently and honouring the will of givers, our employees and outside givers who took part in the campaign”.
2,112 staff members of Raiffeisen Group Bulgaria joined the fifth Choose to Help campaign. With the 100 leva the bank added to each donation made by an employee the total funds raised this year amounted to 248,049 leva.
Choose to Help 2013 was carried out in November 2013 – January 2014 supporting 27 projects in healthcare, community, environment, culture and education. The project that got the widest support was the Bulgarian Charity Aid Foundation’s campaign for medical treatment of children with multiple diseases (51,986 leva) followed by Our Prematurely Born Children Foundation project (31 263 leva) and a project of the Centre for Protection of Rights in Healthcare on breast cancer screenings (23,407 leva)
271 employees of Raiffeisenbank chose to back good causes of their own choice that were not initially on the list of projects supported by the campaign. The funds raised in support of these additional 6 projects reached 31,776 leva.
The campaign’s web page www.izberi.rbb.bg will remain active even after the end of the campaign and will feature reports of beneficiaries on the use of funds.
