Actavis EAD, part of the third largest specialized pharmaceutical company in the world Actavis Inc., announced that it will donate to the Bulgarian Red Cross medicaments of its product portfolio worth 50,000 leva.
The donation of the company includes basic medicaments (for pain relief, lowering temperature, against stomach pain and problems, antitussive); antibiotics; medicaments for the cardiovascular system; vitamins and polyvitamins; gels for joint and arthritic pain; antihistamines (for spastic bronchitis); children's syrups.
Through the Bulgarian Red Cross the drugs will be donated to hospitals and social institutions in the country.
In his letter to the provisional Prime Minister Marin Raykov, Mr. Iliya Pashov - CEO of Actavis EAD said: “We highly appreciate and fully support your call to business for solidarity and support of our fellow citizens in need. Allow me to express my consent with your opinion that solidarity with people in need by the Bulgarian businessmen and the big international business, represented in Bulgaria, is a matter of national responsibility. In this sense I would like to assure you that Actavis has always been and always will be a reliable social partner. About our company donations and support are a matter of corporate culture and overall donor strategy. "
In the letter to Mr, Raykov it is also mentioned that Actavis as a company hopes this donation to be one of the first good signals for the unification of government, industry and non-governmental sector in this hard for many Bulgarians moment. This help is a matter of national cause and Actavis joins the efforts of the interim government for its successful implementation.
